This is who I am

Vibraphone * percussion * Lessons * performance

Eric Andre’ Majied aka EMajic is a percussionist, vibe player, drummer, music teacher, songwriter, and inventor of Majied’s Majic Mallets. As a vibraphonist and percussionist, he coined the term vibrapercussionist.

He is a native of Flint Michigan and is the youngest of ten children. Majied has literally been banging on pots and pans since the age of two and knew from an early age that music would be a significant force in his life. Growing up he thrived in all areas of music, playing most percussive instruments from piano to congas, to marimbas. Along the way, he picked up the guitar and some brass instruments. To hone his talents he studied formal music at Grambling State and pledged Phi Mu Alpha professional music fraternity for men all while marching in the World Famed marching band. He went on to receive his master's degree in education administration. This catapulted his career as a band director in his hometown and his old high school. While passing on knowledge to the next generation, Eric continued performing contemporary and jazz music traveling the country and internationally with various groups and ensembles. He recorded his acclaimed solo CD project called This Is Who I Am during this time.

Majied eventually relocated to Dallas Texas and continued to uplift his community by teaching the youth and leaving his indelible musical mark on students who would become major recording artists; he never stopped performing and recording the music of his vibes.

Currently, EMajic is working on his next recording project playing with his signature six mallets. With an endorsement deal from Salyers Percussion, he is creating his own trademarked mallets called Majied’s Majic Mallets. Eric is available for gigs, private percussion lessons, collabs, recordings, videos, and whatever else anybody has for him.
